Jan handles a wide range of civil disputes. He specializes in property law and liability law, with particular expertise in climate liability and collective actions. He also represents clients in corporate litigation.

Jan wrote his master’s thesis on unwritten standards of care in the corporate sector, for which he received the Molengraaff Thesis Award in 2024.

Before joining Finch Dispute Resolution, Jan spent more than two years as a lecturer at the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law at Utrecht University. There, he taught courses including insolvency law, contract law, property law, and civil procedure. In 2025, the law faculty’s students honored him with the Teaching Talent of the Year award.
